Hello December, well its actually November but trying to be proactive and ahead of myself for this blog. Normally this time of the year the blog would include images of the exhibitions I went to and shared stories and images from the shoots.

Yes we all know its been a different year and no doubt somewhat challenging too, who would have thought when we saw people walking towards us we’d do our utmost to not get close.
Luckily for us, life on the Isle of Man has been relaxed for many months, the only restrictions we have had is regarding travel. As some of you will know how much travel means to me but for once, I am happy to stay on the island with our protected community.

So, luckily I did have a trip to London in January this year for a photography networking/conference kind of day, I managed to squeeze in a visit to the National Portrait Gallery and my favourite place the V&A to see the Tim Walker exhibition.
With no shoots for a few months I threw myself into education to learn more about my craft. Endless videos with online classes really gave me a thirst and passion for my photography.

Before lockdown happened when out walking ( we did 10k steps before breakfast most days and needed replacement trainers twice!) I have an ‘ah ha’ moment about ‘paying it forward’ for local business owners. When it was safe to re-open I visited their businesses for a branding shoot and a feature in my blogs, they were well received and the images turned out great too!
Then when our lives regained our somewhat Normal Manxness and I could go and visit people in their gardens or invite them into the studio space it was as if a huge weight was off my shoulders, i had the opportunity to put all the new learnings into practice.

Over the summer months I has so many studio shoots, I have scattered the images throughout this blog. I even needed to update my social media profile shots too, it felt odd being on the other side of the camera so now I know how my lovely clients feel…… I love the connection I have with all my clients, they are simply the best….Tina Turner is now singing in my head……

With the introduction of an additional studio space in Douglas I have the opportunity to shoot more, the space is beautiful and airy with the most amazing neighbours, this is going to be a new and exciting chapter in Jason Kinrade Photography. I now have a make up and hair stylist on board for the total transformation shoots, we do a series of before and after shots and it literally changes the way people see themselves and they simply fall in love with the way the look and feel.

So what is 2021 hoping to bring, I don’t if any of us can actually answer that, I just hope we will have more freedom to travel and regain our lives and businesses do not suffer. It will I hope be a time of more positivity for us all.

Now let me take the opportunity to wish you all a peaceful Christmas time with a healthy and positive 2021, thank you all for your continued support.
