What’s Better: Prints or Digital Files?

When it comes to photography, many clients face the decision between prints and digital files. Some photographers only provide digital files, while others offer prints alongside digital versions of those prints.

What Do I offer

While I provide both options, I must admit there’s something truly special about having a physical print on your walls—a lasting piece of art that can brighten your home every day.

On the other hand, digital files are perfect for sharing with friends and family on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. So, which option is best for you? It’s all about what matters most to you!

The Benefits of Digital Files

Digital copies are incredibly convenient. You can share them easily, take them to your local print shop, or keep them on a USB stick. But remember, USB drives can become corrupt over time, and you might lose all your photos. Don’t worry, though—I back up all my images, so you’re covered in case anything happens.

Why Prints Are Worth the Investment

When comparing the two, I truly believe prints are the better investment. You might wonder why. Here’s the thing: while technology keeps changing, a high-quality print will stand the test of time. My prints and products are handcrafted in Italy, and after visiting the factory north of Venice last year, I can confidently say that the craftsmanship is unparalleled. These prints will last for generations, outlasting digital files that could get lost in the shuffle of evolving technology.

There’s something beautiful about being able to see and enjoy your images every day. A printed photograph brings your memories to life, in a way digital files just can’t. With digital files, you need to log in to your computer, whereas a framed print greets you every time you walk into the room.

So, Which Should You Choose?

When booking your portrait photography shoot, consider this: Do you want a USB stick that might get lost in a drawer, or would you prefer beautiful prints that dress up your home? I know which one I’m passionate about—and that’s why I’m such a strong advocate for prints!

Until next time,
Jason
