I often get asked what happens during a shoot with myself your Isle of Man Photographer. Initially, contact is made either by telephone or via my website here. So after contact, I arrange a meeting where I can find out more about how you and your family want to be photographed.
Where, When & How!
You can either be photographed in the studio or at one of the breathtaking locations here on the Isle of Man. As soon as we have agreed on a date and location I will send you my guide on how to look good in your photographs.

Preparation For Your Portrait Shoot
In the lead up to the shoot, I will help and guide you if necessary so we can get the best out of the shoot. I recommend that you all coordinate your outfits rather than look disjointed. To view examples from my shoots please visit the family gallery here

Please avoid wearing patterned clothing and keep the jewellery to a minimum if you can. We are going to create timeless and beautiful images that will last for years to come.

Planning Your Shoot
Here are my top 5 tips to consider to get the best out of the shoot.
- Decide on your ideal location, do you want a seascape in the background or do you prefer a studio set up? This is important as you need to feel comfortable and relaxed wherever you are.

2. Have you thought about what to wear, it’s a good idea to all co-ordinate, think about what you will all feel most comfortable in. I would suggest 3 changes of clothes for an indoor shoot and lots of layers if shooting outdoors, as we know the weather can be a challenge. Shopping online has never been easier to take into consideration the following retailers:
H&M – Contemporary Fashion for all the Family
Monsoon – Timeless and Elegant Fashion
Zara – Stylish & Fashionable from Spain
Boden – British Classics for all the Family
Fat Face – Relaxing Styles for Modern Families
3. Create a Pinterest or mood board along with your photographer and actively contribute to this, think looks, styles and locations. The more time you invest in this, the better the images will be!
4. Have an early night before the shoot, you want to wake up refreshed and look amazing, so drink lots of water the evening before and if you can bring water to the shoot with you, if you have a studio shoot with me, refreshments are always provided.
5. Arrive on time, give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination relaxed and calm. Nobody wants a stressed look on a photograph now do they? This is your time to have a great session with lots of fun!

This is your time and it’s important to get the most out of it, as your photographer I will guide you throughout the whole experience. The shoots normally last for an hour to two hours and within that time we will work on different styles and looks with different combinations if you are coming with your nearest and dearest. So everyone will have the opportunity to have their photograph taken by myself.

A portrait holds a moment in time that can never be repeated so, we will together create timeless and beautiful legacy images for years to come and it is my job to change the way you see yourself.
